That's pretty cool... but, a couple thoughts:
-Does anyone else find it ironic that somebody who skipped so many grades and who is relatively young for law school is going to a law school whose 1L population trends toward the old side?
-What's she going to do about bar review? That kind of sucks.

Not sure what city you've tried it in, but Chicago isn't New York. They're pretty hardcore about it out here, so you better have a damn good fake to be able to get in reliably.Corsair wrote:Because 19 year olds never get into bars.hmlee wrote:-What's she going to do about bar review? How is it that a building with 600 units doesn't have a single unlocked internet signal from my apartment? I can't stand waiting for Comcast to come.

not to intrude on your thread, but it really does piss me off that people have gotten so anal about that these days - damn "security"69sofine wrote:How is it that a building with 600 units doesn't have a single unlocked internet signal from my apartment? I can't stand waiting for Comcast to come.

Yeah, I'd rather keep mine unlocked in case I get busted for downloading or something, just blame it on my neighbor...doyleoil wrote:not to intrude on your thread, but it really does piss me off that people have gotten so anal about that these days - damn "security"69sofine wrote:How is it that a building with 600 units doesn't have a single unlocked internet signal from my apartment? Congrats! I'm sure people here can help you with your housing situation! McClurg is pretty full-up, but I know someone who got an apartment in Onterie just a couple of weeks ago, maybe they still have space?N2012 wrote:Off the waiting list yesterday! Really excited about this, yet scrambling to put this together on such short notice. Any suggestions for finding housing at the last minute? It will be me and s/o, but we should be fine sharing a smallish space.

Re: Northwestern 2012
Blue line or Red line? Wrigleyville is a good neighborhood and that's a good deal for a one bedroom. It is very accessible to school on the red line. As long as you don't mind a 30 minute commute to school, that is a solid option. (If it really is the blue line though, then not so much)N2012 wrote:By luck, a friend of a friend may be moving back here and possibly wants to sublease a one bedroom in Wrigley 3 blocks from the blue line for $750. Seems like a sweet deal, any thoughts on this locale?
If that falls through, I suggest Onterie also. When I got my apartment there it seemed like they still had a decent selection.

If wrigleyville, I am thinking red line ... Not a bad location ... the price is fair ... my only hesitation would be the walk / bus-ride from the station to lakeshore ... then again, I am lazy and hate walking in the cold.N2012 wrote:Thanks for the grats! The red line station at the school is all of 3 blocks from the building, so it's not that far at all. Most of the red line stations in the area of Wrigleyville are about half a mile from the lake, though I don't know why you'd want to be walking to the lake in the winter anyway. :pchadwick218 wrote:If wrigleyville, I am thinking red line ... To the OP: congrats on getting in off the waitlist! I live in Lakeview right now, about a mile from Wrigley Field. It's a great neighborhood and pretty convenient for getting down to the school.

i got a really great place on craigslist. my landlord is a guy at kellogg and it's a pretty sweet deal. i know it's always caveat emptor, especially with craigslist, but you can really find some great deals on nice condos.

Craigslist is where I found my place - also a rented condo in a high rise in Lakeview. I love it.enygma wrote:i got a really great place on craigslist. my landlord is a guy at kellogg and it's a pretty sweet deal. i know it's always caveat emptor, especially with craigslist, but you can really find some great deals on nice condos.

I have a pretty awesome view of the city.... and all last week the F-14s for the air & water show kept waking me up with their practicing. Oh well.Raison d'être wrote:Oooo I can see them practicing for the Air and Water show (partially) from my apartment. So cool! Anyone have a really awesome view?
Anyway, on a different note... what is everyone planning on wearing to our first day of orientation? I saw a separate thread about this for a different school and it made me curious about this for us...

i think they want us to wear a collared shirt on the first day for the photos. i'm not in chicago yet, but i've heard it's pretty hot this time of year, so i think i will probably wear a long sleeved button down collared shirt for the picture and then just change into something a little more light weight after.hmlee wrote:
