I'm wandering around Chicago looking for a place to get a haircut that doesn't require an appointment and takes plastic and getting frustrated. I'd kill for a Great Clips or Hair Cuttery...
There is a Supercuts at Huron and State!

Supercuts is way to high-class to show up on Yelp! Last time they even offered to wash my hair for free ... then again, I had been wondering around the city myself for quite some time on one of Chicago's few 90 degree days.

I liked mine, but then again, my idea of a good haircut is "shorter than it was before I went in."

Harry's doesn't "sell" so much as "extort."

APEX could've been 1 hour long today.

Agreed ... taking the 45 minute practice exam forced me to think about contracts and the 30 minutes spent discussing the exam outlining process was helpful, but otherwise it was a struggle ...

It was kind of redundant after our K's midterm, which looked nothing like our practice exam...

The Q&A afterwards was nice though, since none of our profs have practice exams up.

The Q&A was nice, but withholding the coffee until after the exam was just cruel. Some of us were hungover Apex!

Does anybody else find all the midterms to be a bit perverse? I feel like all they are really accomplishing is helping to burn people out in October before the big November/December push...

Find a way to take a day or two off from law school somewhere, and come back primed & ready to go through Thanksgiving break.
I'm not personally burned out, but the vibe is getting stressed earlier than I expected. It's useful to take a midterm to get an idea of what's going on, but I agree with my Civ. Pro. professor: one in every class plus an APEX session is a bit too much.

Though I've heard people who like them so maybe I'm in the minority opinion on this...

One in every class?? I only had one plus Apex.

The upside of the one I had is it left a lot less content to study for the final, which wasn't cumulative, and the experience of having studied, outlined, and taken an exam before being faced with four. The downside was that it was another f'in exam to stress about, and rumor has it the class was so tight on the final that the midterm pretty much established the curve.
