That's almost exactly what I just did.

Lastnamefirstinitialmiddleinitial.

My username is: first initial, middle initial, last name. I'm happy with it, especially since my undergrad email was so freaking weird.

oof I am just so excited to finally be starting law school soon!

Believe me, that's not so bad. For someone that doesn't have a middle initial, who has a first name with seven letters and a last name with six... this thing just wasn't going to let me do any first/last name combo. I tried pretty much every combination, and ended up doing [lastname]sc@umich

I like it, but I really would have liked to keep it all my name. I almost put in a made up middle initial based on a nickname my parents have for me, but even that was taken.

I just can't discern why they'd limit it to 8 letters considering how large the university is. Seems as though it would behoove them expand the letter limit.

Also, they should have a @law.umich.edu extension on these emails to further supplement their badass-itude. That is all.

Woot! Congrats... I have 1 down (but a few weeks ago), 3 to go. But one of those is a paper I won't turn in for another month, so.... yay for the extra time, but boo for needing to still do classwork after I've started working.

I also have that paper that A. has, and it sort of sucks that it'll still be looming AFTER I graduate. . . but on the other hand, I only have 2 exams, both of which I think I'm p/fing. Ahh, the life of a 3L.

I sooooo hope he's the kind of professor who grades the P/F exam in with the ohters. (No offense by that... yours will be way better than most P/F exams.)

I'm still wavering, but I don't think I should take it for a grade with the amount of studying I've done. But then again, no grade I'd realistically get would hurt my gpa at this point either. Hrmm. Whatever.

Does anyone know when we'll find out what summer section we're in? I'd like to be able to figure out my schedule.

I'm pretty sure they don't tell us until orientation. The only class you'll know for sure is civ pro, unfortunately.

So, if we want to find out how ridiculously hard/ easy professors are, where should we look/ who should we talk to?

Even though the summer section is limited in prof selection =(

It really doesn't make sense to say that a professor is "hard" or "easy" for 1L classes, since the curve pretty much evens everything out. In fact, you better hope you have a hard prof. The curve will be wider.

That said, Clark is an amazing professor. In terms of fall starters, I don't envy people who have CivPro with Cooper. The summer starters have JJ White for Contracts... yeah have fun with that. he's probably going to be your most terrifying professor in class.

OK, I had JJ for contracts, and while I can't deny that he is somewhat terrifying, he is totally awesome. If you have him for contracts, you will be really glad, and if you don't, you'll be jealous. :) He's very old school and hilariously (and shockingly) inappropriate. Plus he's a good teacher.

Haha. I forgot to include the "he's totally awesome" part. If I didn't think he was totally awesome, I wouldn't have pre-registered for secured transactions with a priority

I believe there's a link through the admitted students page that goes to section assignments. They didn't post it until maybe a week before orientation for fall starters last year. Not sure about summer.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
