Someone just posted they're already in at Michigan this cycle, and I know there's at least one other person on this board starting in 2009 with me. So here it is, the official Michigan 2012 thread.

Michigan status checker has been down for me all day.

Server Error in '/AdmAppStatus' Application.
Conversion from type 'DBNull' to type 'String' is not valid.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.InvalidCastException: Conversion from type 'DBNull' to type 'String' is not valid.

Edit: And where did someone post that they're in?

Um in the admissions forum in the thread "umich question." Someone mentioned he/she may have been lying because acceptances didn't come out this early last year, but I'm hoping (for his/her) sake that he wasn't.

I wouldn't go to UMich in a million years. EmmyD is there, I think.

Ahhh I love Michigan. Just looking at the pics of their campus gives me goosebumps. One of my top choices. *Fingers crossed*

Dean Z. personally told me that she has not even read a single application this year....as of yesterday (wed. 29th)

That seems odd since Michigan usually starts making their decisions in early-mid November.

Just because Dean Z hasn't read a file, doesn't mean that other adcomms haven't read them

If you visit hopefully you'll get an even better feel.
As soon as I walked onto the quad I felt comfortable, like I could be at home there. As I had only gotten 1 hour of sleep and endured a 2.5 hour bus ride and 1.5 hour flight en route, I knew that any school that made me forget all that was where I wanted to be.

If anyone has any questions about the process or the school from the admissions end of things I can try to help answer some, although since I haven't started yet I probably can't answer logistical questions about what the school is like once classes start.

Yes, but only Dean Z makes admissions decisions.

Pretty much just as futile.
ED apps aren't even due for like 11 more days, so I wouldn't be nervous about not hearing anything or the status checkers changing.

You did apply ED, right?

Looking at LSN for last cycle if you went complete by this date last year you heard back 11/13-11/30 with only two exceptions.

Unless you were waitlisted/rejected then you hear back much later.

Just applied ED to Umich. It is definitely my first choice, I'm in love with the school.
