  Ok let's make a list. I'm not sure I'd want to kick people when they're down, if that's that case, but at least it'll give us the opportunity to revel amongst ourselves.

rayiner hates on gtown quite a bit. The funny part is I'm pretty sure he was deciding between gtown and NU and finally picked the latter; so he hates on gtown to make himself feel better about his decision. ha ha nonetheless much love rayiner

Ask me in a year. If I'm above median (or top 1/3rd, whatever the cutoff for a "good" job is for our class), I'll join in. If I'm not, I'll probably be too busy figuring out ways to repay my debt. Buying lottery tickets or planning trips to the nearest casino. "I'd like to place my entire GradPlus disbursement on red 23!"

Let's play blackjack instead. I've heard it's a good way to make 80k in a hurry....

Haha. Zach Galifianakis's wolf pack speech in that movie is a classic.

Nah, I don't even want to do any rubbing of noses in anything. I just always get a laugh out of overconfident predictions, and I like to come back to review those predictions and their real outcomes for my own enjoyment (or admonition). I'm most interested to see which group ends up happiest with outcomes in the end. In my (admittedly limited) experience, our group seems like a pretty happy, interesting bunch. It seems like several of us chose GULC for reasons other than rankings alone, and it seems like we have varied plans and interests. Maybe I'm naive, but I think we're gonna be just fine.

In a semi-related note: when I get to a computer (limited to iPhone now), I should post the info from the GULC website about the faculty and alumni who've gone to work for the Obama administration. I think it's something like 7 FT faculty, 1 adjunct professor, 26 alums, and 1 current student (L'10) currently in nominated or appointed positions in the administration to date IIRC. Not bad.

Quite an impressive list. What information will be next out of GULC? I'm hoping for a bill. I would really like that bandaid pulled off as quickly as possible!

See, that's the one part I hope they totally forget about. You know, like altogether. Forever.

Probably not going to be so lucky.

If they would it would be amazing, especially in this economy. I just want to get it done, so I can actually see what my budget will be and how much Ramen I'll be eating. Or maybe it will just be Lunchables.

Any other mac users having trouble setting up their LawMail with their Mac mail application? Or, if you've been able to do it, can you help me out a bit?

Due to my intense distaste for Microsoft Exchange, I'm forgoing that effort 'til Orientation. I'm pretty sure there's an information session on technology, so I just figured I'd ask then.

I just have everything forwarded to gmail. I still haven't even set up the mail program on my mac and I have had it for 3 years! Nothing good seems to be coming through it, so I think if you wait until you get to campus you should be good.

Haha, I'm the same way. Gmail is awesome in so many ways that Mac's mail program and Outlook are not. After using Outlook all through undergrad the last thing I want to do is deal with it for another 3 years.

Isn't it about time to start doing a countdown?
50 days 'til Orientation (choosing the semi-arbitrary date of 8/25)
and
56 days 'til classes start!

If only it weren't for the cross-country moving I have to manage between now and then :(

Thanks! I wasn't the first person to ask, and while it's not exactly what I was looking for, it is a better option than Outlook on the Web.

Section 3 here. Does anyone know anything about how small sections are assigned? I've got an email out to the registrar, but haven't heard anything back.

When is everybody moving in? I figure I'm gonna quit my summer job like a week before you guys all get here and just relax and then try and swing by campus to see what people are doing. Is there anything anyone is dying to do when they get here that we can try and do before school gets underway?

I'm looking to move in sometime in the next 6 weeks. I'm really looking forward to going to TARGET! I definitely need to get my apartment furnished, once I find one.

Yeah, I e-mailed them to ask for a certain small section professor and they flat-out refused. It's all random.

I have a problem. I'm having wayyyy too much fun assigning "officer titles" for my section's FB group. Any section 3ers want a title?
