Did you purchase any supps and/or outlines in addition the the general section course books? My total rang up to a little over $300 for CivPro(2), Conlaw, and the LRW bluebook. Just need torts and maybe an extra book for LRW, depending on the teacher.

Roo's suggestion of barristerbooks was really good - they included a 5% discount on the total order*. The shipping was magic too, the package arriving in 3 days w/ UPS ground (cost around 4 dollars in lieu of the free, but slower option).

edit*The civpro casebook also had a 40% discount from ~150. Used but the correct edition. Newest used book I've ever seen.

Thanks. I'm glad I checked this thread. I didn't know signups had started. I'm going to do the We Are Family project (talking to old people) and the domestic violence reform tour.

On the subject of good deals on books, I just bought a new Civil Procedure from Barnes & Noble online for $115. This is with the member discount but they were giving it to everyone.

Arboretum and bike tour.

Also, am I crazy for not planning on looking into books at all until Orientation week?

Is that the book by Freer? If so, mind posting a link? I can't seem to find it on BN :? ...

When do classes start this fall? I'm planning on visiting and sitting in on a class before applying.

Thanks!

American, actually, but in the UK for the summer and for other reasonably lengthy periods of time before this. It just didn't really look right to leave out the "u." :-)

Ah, so a mere interloper from the Colonies. 'Tis a common affliction, to drop the uncivilized manner of the Americas when exposed to the fabulously extravangant spellings of Her Majesty's English.

Well, you know, it's only polite, when doing written work. I had an internship supervisor at one point who beat the zeds out of me.

So I just got an e-mail saying that I need to send in a picture for them to put on my GOcard. Am I the only one who hasn't done this yet? I'm going to do it today, but I'm wondering what the deadline is for me being SoL and without a GOcard at orentation....

I'm pretty sure the deadline was the 22nd, but I think you can get it once you arrive. It doesn't take long at all. You can begin to pick them up beginning the 21st.

You can get your photo taken in the GoCard office during orientation. The only real benefit to sending in one beforehand is that you have more control over having a good photo, which I wish I'd realized. These are the same photos that show up in the printed facebook and that the professors will use for their seating charts, etc.

Hey--does anyone have a patio? I have patio furniture that I love, but I don't have a patio. I would be willing to put it on long-term loan to the right home...

Crap. I look like a balding, sunburned, unshaven drifter in my photo. Which is fine, I guess, because that's basically what I am (minus the drifter part). I thought the photo only went on my ID card, so I didn't put in much effort. Future professors, please don't judge.

Just emailed a photo in for my GOcard. Hope it's alright. Deadline is today, for anyone who's been dragging on that one!

Tomorrow is the move-in day for gerwiz. Is anyone else stying at the Washington court across the street before move-in? I already saw one guy walking around with a g-town law folder, but I didn't go say hi because it felt weird

Those might be 2Ls. There was an Early Interview Week orientation at Washington Court today, and interviews will take place there all next week! :)

So. What does everyone think? I dig the gym. Could've done without the registration and financial aid session, which was pretty much a waste of time.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
