I have never heard of law schools sharing information like this, except in extreme cases of blatant misinformation. Maybe someone else could give a more concrete answer, but in my observation, adcomms don't discuss applicants with each other.

It's not really the adcomms you have to worry about. It is when you are going through the character fitness portion of the bar that you may run into some problems. They will see the discrepancies between your applications, and it could make it difficult for you to gain entrance to the bar exam.

Law schools that deny you save your applications and then the bar somehow finds out all the schools you apply to, and then requests them and the schools send them to the bar? Heh? Please substantiate this claim.

My state's bar asks no such "List all law schools to which you applied" question, so I don't see how this can be the case.

The school that accepted you, yes. All schools to which you applied, so very doubtful.

On my bar exam application I will state that I received a citation. But since most law schools only ask for convictions (and a citation is not a conviction), I don't think they can say I lied on any of my applications.

It may vary by state, but I received a drinking citation and I treated it as a conviction. Once you got the citation, what happened after that?

Also, I disclosed the citation to Cornell and Duke, but I just read over my NYU application (which was already sent!) and they ask for all charges even if the charge was for something that may not be considered a crime. Re-reading that, I now think I should have disclosed to NYU just to be safe. I thought a charge is just for crimes and that citations are not "charges" per se. If I go to NYU and try to get admitted in NY, will the bar let me plead ignorance? It's somewhat true after all. Should I send an immediate addendum to NYU?

I'd send an addendum to NYU. I know a guy that just had his character & fitness part of the bar for NY and he said it was extremely tough & thorough and all he has are two speeding tickets. They will know.
