Which schools have the most annoying application forms?
I'm filling out my apps so far and getting annoyed at the superfluous crap that needs to be filled out. Dates the LSAT has been taken? You've got that information already. High School? Uhm, okay. Address while in high school? WTF?
So far the worst offender I've come across is UCLA. Their application is like 12 pages long. The best one is UVA, just two pages, very straightforward. Which others are especially annoying?

I forget what school it was, but they wanted to know the specific dates in which my parents had actually resided in their current state. They also wanted to know my parents income at the time I graduated high school, which I found kind of bizarre.

I agree the LSAT questions seem a waste of everyone's time. I believe the high school stuff is so they can tell if you grew up in a shithole, and bump you up accordingly. Race-based affirmative action is illegal at the University of California, so the high school and parental background stuff is part of what they do instead.
I actually liked UCLA's app. I guess I'm the only one, but I thought it let me shine since I had a lot to say about my distinctive programmatic contribution. Though come to think of it, the rest of the app was a pain -- too long, and separate rectangles for each letter are unforgivable in an electronic document.

USC's is beautiful. It's like. One page. everything gets filled in by the common form. Cornell's is pissing me off because the College Major Box is so small that even the abbreviated "Poli-Sci" runs over the margins.I have no idea what to do about it. I'm mind blown. Thank god I'm not an Aerospace Engineer or something, I'd have no room left for my work experience.

God that thing is annoying, I had like 11 typos on their application when I reviewed it, compared with zero or maybe one on my other applications. UCLA if you're listening: get a less crappy application, and I'll forgive you 2-3 impertinent questions.voice of reason wrote:Though come to think of it, the rest of the app was a pain -- too long, and separate rectangles for each letter are unforgivable in an electronic document.

I find it annoying that Columbia thinks it needs the years of my parents' graduation.

Vanderbilt's was asking me something so stupid that it changed my mind about applying. It was only two weeks ago, but I really don't remember because I got so frustrated with not knowing the information they were asking for. Oh well...
And George Mason's 500 word PS limit also changed my mind about applying, but I never really wanted to apply all that badly in the first place.

Haha I think this was Miami. My parents' income when I graduated high school ..how is that relevant? I think this was the application that wanted to know everything paper, essay, report, etc. I've ever done in college.

+1
Since it was going to be a safety, I decided to not even bother applying... too much effort.

I hope Cornell realizes El Eng, is electrical engineering, and not spanglish for "the english".Cupidity wrote:USC's is beautiful. It's like. One page. everything gets filled in by the common form. I didn't like any of the apps that requested dean certifications, just another thing slowing the process down.
It's cool if they accept you and then ask for it i guess.

GWU wants me to remember every speeding ticket I've ever gotten, plus the 500 word PS limit. effers. might be skipping that one.

Berkeley. Stupid form won't work on Firefox on the Mac due to dropdown boxes not showing up.

i told gw i got a certain number of speeding tickets between the years of X and Y and that if they wanted more information on this subject to please contact me. eff them. My numbers should be autoadmit but if they aren't I don't even care just because that aspect of the ap was so annoying.

Awww, I liked the GMU word limit, but I am a very concise writer. So far I hate Northeastern because I think their optional essay topics are lame, but I still feel like I should do one because I need a safety in Boston.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
