My stats aren't too great...21 yr old caucasian w/ LSAC GPA of 3.03 (3.25) and a 155...I also worked two jobs throughout college (20-35 hrs/week) to finance my education...I know my stats are low for Pepperdine but I have legacy status as my dad is a Pepperdine Law alum and a member of the Alumni Association...I also have a LOR from another alum who is a prominent SoCal attorney and a large donor to the university...Are my ties to the school enough to get me in even with subpar stats?

No idea about the answer to your question, but since Pepperdine has the religion thing going on, maybe you could also better your chances by playing that up or writing a Why Pepperdine.

How large is a "large donor?" Maybe he'll donate some more mula with your name and LSAC number on the notes? Or have your daddy send them a big fat check. Or re-take and earn your own shit

Edit: Sorry, that might be harsh. But seriously, try to earn things for yourself

As far as playing up religion in the post mentioned above, it WILL work! I got into Pepperdine for undergrad and had no where near the grades and SAT that I needed to get in. I am convinced that my essay about religion got me in. I said that I was Jewish (which I am) and that I was extremely interested in converting and said this whole thing how I want to continue my religious studies throughout school and beyond. I just made up a whole little thing cuz I knew they were big on that. And hey, it worked lol. I will almost guarantee that will work. And although my numbers were low, your numbers might be a little too low for law school, however getting a rec from a big donor doesn't hurt one bit.

good for poster above me. but i doubt this will work for everyone.

OP, youre fucked unless your donor donates a ton of money.

155? c'mon man, retake or rethink your future

lol sorry to be an ass, but i was an ass

edit: as i think about simply having a 155 on your lsac record, youre done!...

I'm not sure if the money thing will help you. Speaking from experience my great great uncle donated A LOT of money to a specific school (they have a foundation in his name at the school and are contracted to keep his memory alive at the school in his will) and the staff changes their tone when I drop his name but I have to earn my way in simple as that. I'm busting my ass to do well on the LSAT for me but also to prove that by applying to the school I can get in on my own.
