Hi,

Quick Q on Stanford App, there is a line asking for the name of the Dean who is signing your Statement of Dean Form
In the school that I attended for UG, the registrar takes care of those forms and I don't really know which official "Dean"s signature is going to be on it. Do you think that it is ok if on the line asking for the name of Dean I just wrote the name of the school?

I sent out the app already and need to know if now i need to send Stanford a document about it.

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it too much. They know most students don't personally know who's getting that stuff done, especially students at big schools. Just put the name of the Dean of Students or Judicial Affairs or something. If it turns out not to be that person, I'm sure they'll understand.

If I sent it in already with just the school name do you think I need to do anything now(find out who sent it and let Stanford know) or is that not necessary?
thanks

<-------------- Same problem here.

I called my school about two weeks after submitting the form and asked for the name of the person who signed it. They gave it to me right away (once they knew my name). We even have a few 'deans' who could sign such forms, but they were able to track down the one whose name I needed.

I really wouldn't worry about it. I've been submitting applications today, so I know how you feel. I keep reminding myself, "If I get rejected, it's not because I did X on the application form."

That said, Stanford's application was one of the more labor intensive ones.

Really? How so? I found it to be one of the easiest applications I had.

I guess it was just the extra forms. Which I totally understand and I don't mean to complain. It just took more time and work. Maybe that was especially true for me since I'm 3000 miles away from my recommenders and Dean.

Okay. I see now. If that were my case, Stanford certainly would have been the most difficult application.
