Conversation from when I went to a Duke party as a sophomore:

Douche: So whats your major?
Young Pearalegal: Anthropology, but not at Duke.
Douche: Oh, where do you go?
Young Pearalegal: Chapel Hill.

On an aside, I've heard the Duke law students are significantly less douchey than the normal Duke students. But a certain level of douchiness has to be present when you have a school that is prestigious because it's named after a title of status. I plan to establish Reginald U, Matriarch U (all girls), and 5-Star General U (military) within the next twenty years.

Thats definitely true with grad students, I'm sure it carries over to law as well.

Plus, Duke does have only lemur house in North America on campus. My friend is a bio grad student and works there. I visited, it was terrifying. But cool.

Lemur as in long striped tail? This alone may warrant an app!

Yeah, they talk about it in the Duke viewbook. One of the many reasons why my wife is cheering on my Duke application.

That piece reads like a wiki article. I even googled a few sentences to check, and it's not. I really don't see a point of writing something like that. Can someone enlighten me, please?

To begin, that guy didn't get into Yale. I just thought his question "Furthermore does it need to be law-related or can I write about snails?" was funny. Secondly, the 250 can be about absolutely anything. I made mine a little more personal, and don't mind sharing if someone wants to PM me (obviously I won't post it until I hear back).

Yes, I realize it can be about anything, but I was under the impression a person should share his/her views or ideas, not dry facts cut and rephrased from wiki (I'm not saying the guy editted wiki article, just the style).

BTW, I'd love to read yours

Ever consider that Duke University was named after a person? Just sayin.
