Re: Duke Priority Track Invite / Fee Waiver
Dear Gmail spam filter,
When a t14 law school is inviting me to apply without paying money, that is an email I want. When someone without a name is offering me a rolex watch or penis enlargement pills, that is not an email I want. You seem to have these two confused. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
driveshaft
Thanks for the tip on the spam folder guys!

Does Duke give fee waivers to everyone? I just got one and my stats are 3.6/159 URM. I was shocked...just wondering if anyone could comment on why I received one.

Yeah thanks for that. One of the fee waiver e-mails was in spam. Argh!

I also got a Duke PT and a UVA fee waiver. What does a Duke PT really mean? My GPA is 3.98 but I really bombed the LSAT, 161!

Re: Duke Priority Track Invite / Fee Waiver
I don't want to bogart this thread, but I think this question could be addressed ITT.
So I received a fee waiver today (167, 3.84) and I screwed up on LSAC. I didn't see the 'or' that said fall jd or dual degree. So basically I selected the mba/jd application. Now i can't change it to the fall JD application. Any advice on how to fix this mess? I was planning on calling LSAC tomorrow and maybe the Duke admissions office as well. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

If you're not too far in the application (and why would you be if it's the wrong one?), on the left of the drop down menu under Duke, click delete application. Then go to your School List, not the Active Applications, and start again. That simple. The Philosoraptor wrote:I don't want to bogart this thread, but I think this question could be addressed ITT.

I just got my Duke fee waiver and am more than a little surprised because of my 162/3.34 numbers. I had never even considered them let alone bothered to start their app.

The delete application is greyed out for me (it's that way for all my apps actually). Also, deleting Duke from the school list doesn't undo it. I think I'm screwed. Thanks for trying though. Can anyone else give me some glimmer of hope?

Sorry. I have no idea why it'd be greyed out.The Philosoraptor wrote: The delete application is greyed out for me (it's that way for all my apps actually). Re: Duke Priority Track Invite / Fee Waiver
I just got a fee waiver from Duke also but my Sept. LSAT score is actually on hold (long story). Why would I get one?
My GPA is actually pretty low (3.5)

Re: Duke Priority Track Invite / Fee Waiver
I wouldn't be surprised if these invites go out pretty randomly like LSAT scores. And I'm guessing that would apply to all schools. I don't think there's anything to worry about yet (at least that's what I'm telling myself).

Re: Duke Priority Track Invite / Fee Waiver
If you didn't get one you probably shouldn't be preoccupied. It's people like me who don't even have an LSAT score yet who should be worried for getting one.cpt yossarian wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if these invites go out pretty randomly like LSAT scores. To add to the confusion.....I received a fee waiver and I bombed the sept lsat (158) I'm planning on retaking in Dec.
Also my transcripts aren't up so the only info they have on me is my awesome lsat score.....

I also got the fee waiver email today and my stats are pretty low for Duke... 3.5/158/URM.
Could there be something to this?

Yeah, they probably want us to apply so their rejection yield goes upKellyD09 wrote:I also got the fee waiver email today and my stats are pretty low for Duke... 3.5/158/URM.

Have you assigned any LORs? If so, take them off then try again. I had that issue with a couple of apps I decided I wasn't bothering with. The Philosoraptor wrote:The delete application is greyed out for me (it's that way for all my apps actually).
