With an lsat above their 75th, but GPA below 25th, did they offer you an scholarship money? I'm in a similar situation, but slightly above the 25th on the GPA, wondering if there's any chance at all of $ or $$...

No $$$ for me, but they might throw some your way if you've got the numbers to get into higher-ranked schools. I can see a 3.4/173 leveraging a Michigan admit to get a bit of money.

My interview was very informal (despite the fact that I was wearing a suit). Talked for about a 20 minutes about my CV and experiences, and 15 minutes about Chicago and about how life there is great and wonderful. It really seemed to me like the lady with whom I interviewed was really there to give me a chance, to try to connect with me. No trick question, no "what's your weakness?"-type thing. They only asked me stuff like what I hope to get from a legal education, and where I hope this would all lead me. For what it's worth, I got out of there feeling very positive about the school and about myself.

I did the on campus interview last cycle.

Remember to bring your resume since they will base the interview off of that. They might ask questions about academics, work experience (either summer or postgraduate), leadership skills, management style, personal strengths, possible difficulties for you in law school, and your specific interest in Northwestern. There is always time to ask questions, so you should be prepared for that.

It is fairly conversational, but some of the questions could be difficult if you don't have management/leadership experience. I would not bother doing the interview if you are applying straight from UG, as you probably won't get in anyway.

So is a suit definitely standard? In a job interview context I'd just assume a suit is appropriate, but I don't want to overshoot since schools might be less formal. I'm interviewing in Chicago, not with an alum.

It feels weird setting it up via online scheduler and not talking or e-mailing with a real person. I'm used to having a human being to contact and confirm the appointment. I suppose anything but an automated system would be too unwieldy for so many applicants.

What if you're meeting an alumni in your area, if you're not interviewing on campus?

Northwestern doesn't seem to be loose with the money unless you're above both medians, in which case they seem to throw a lot of money at you. This was my impression from LSN. Obviously, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I'll probably wear a business casual dress-type thing with heels unless instructed otherwise by my interviewer.

I scheduled my interview over a week ago and on-campus interviews started today. The application will not be available on LSAC until the end of next week.

So, no. In fact, one of the questions in the scheduling process is whether your app is submitted.

I'm a girl and I still plan to wear a suit (or at least something with a jacket). After having been around executives and such, I just think it's more appropriate for anyone to go into an interview with a suit than not.

But I can see the rationale if you're meeting your interviewer in a Starbucks to dress a tiny bit more casual (e.g. no jacket).

I did not feel over-dressed when I showed up at my on-campus Northwestern interview with a suit. Everyone knew I was there for the interview (staff, students hanging out, etc.), and that was alright.

Any fellow TLSers that recently interviewed with NU care to share their experiences? What did you do to prepare? How long did it last? Any information is greatly appreciated.
