EDIT: You can have Michigan State; I'll take the $135k from Pepperdine.

Also, its never worth the time to emal Texas for a waiver. Nobody has ever been successful with them.

Pepperdine just now, "may be eligible... Award worth over $135,000 in tuition and stipends."

I also got Pepperdine with the Faculty Scholarship suggestion. I already sent in my app...I will ask them for a refund, but does anyone know if I can send in the Faculty Schol application separately? When I looked at it on the supplemental form it seemed like something I had to print out and mail anyway so I didn't worry about it. I will ask them in my refund email.

I actually appreciated the targeted e-mail. Haven't seen this from any other school.

Yes, send an e-mail to their general admissions office, give them your stats (LSAT/GPA) and LSAC account # and just be very direct saying you're interested in their school and would like to request a fee waiver.

What if you're a splitter with a less than stellar GPA? Still report?

If you are a weak splitter I would definitely request waivers. My GPA is horrible and I have received quite a few waivers.

I also got 'Dozo e-mail today. Was kind of surprised as I had already requested a waiver and they said I must send my request in writing to be considered. Someone was asking about Indiana, I e-mailed them today about a campus visit and also mentioned I had requested a waiver in another e-mail. They said it's fall break now so nobody is there to respond but should hear something next week.

Umm so Im pretty sure this is a big NO from Vandy!!!

Thank you for your inquiry regarding application fee waivers. Merit-based fee waivers are granted through the LSAC Candidate Referral Service (CRS) searches, and when participating in CRS, your information may come available to us. We will notify you by email if a LSAC merit-based fee waiver has been granted, and your electronic application fee will be waived automatically when applying. Our fee waiver invitations sometimes cross in transit with applications received, and if this occurs, your application fee will be refunded.

Have other people been granted fee wiaver from Vandy upon request?

My request was denied a month ago, but I got a fee waiver automatically yesterday. All of my apps were already in by the time I got the Vandy waiver, so no thanks.

I found a hidden Chicago waiver today. Unsolicited. Already had just about all of the others mentioned here so far.

Anyone know if having assigned LORs stops you from getting fee waivers both email and hidden? I haven't gotten free waivers from any school since I assigned LORs to them. Im sure this is just a case of correlation vs. causation, but I can't help but think that the system knows.

No, I assigned LORs to schools and later got waivers from them.

I got the same email. Vandy has given out waivers to ppl with worse stats than mine, so I wouldn't say it's a "no" as much as a canned response to anyone that asks.

+ 1 on Cardozo unsoliciated, but with a big fat: "we like your LSAT, but your GPA might suck which will result in a DING" disclaimer at the bottom.

I've been getting a few waivers from schools that I would be a somewhat "reach" at (George Mason via snail mail and Cardozo) and I'm kind of iffy on even applying. On one hand it's $12. On the other hand, what's the point if my LSAT is only a bit above or at median and my GPA is below the 25th%? (I've been out of school for a bit, but you still have to take the numbers at face value and can't assume the time out of UG will be enough) :(.

Ive gotten U of Minnesota, Notre Dame, William and Mary, U of Iowa, Cardozco and a few smaller schools as well... I got the same email that some of you did for Pepperdine, you may qualify for a full scholarship, but that doesnt mean we are waiving your app fee... haha
