Dear ###,

Thank you for your interest in Michigan Law. I am happy to grant you a merit-based fee waiver. If you apply through LSAC, when you are ready to submit your application, indicate that you will 'pay the school directly,' and then reply to this email so we can waive your fee when your application arrives. If you will apply instead through Embark (via our website), please email me after you have begun your application for further information. Please let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to your visit and receiving your application.

so I did a quick google search to see what the appeal of Duke priority track was, and the first search result was this:

http://www.law.duke.edu/prioritytrack/

which apparently allows you to just register for, or at least state your interest in applying priority track. if the website is up, invitations must be forthcoming, right?

Hrm according to the website, this seems to be a link that they sent out to applicants? After I submitted my info, I got an error message. E-mailed the dean expressing interest in Priority Track, let's see what he says, hopefully my "gunner-ish" tendencies (okay, yea I'm a bit intense about applying) didn't just ding me there...

Edit: Received a quick response from Duke. They "should send out priority track invites very soon." Make sure you're registered for CRS on LSAC if you're interested.

maybe they'll appreciate your tenacity. hey should've made that page unavailable to the google crawlers if they don't want us to see it.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading in the forums last year that that website is for people who already received the invitation.

If you guys are this ridiculous about fee waivers, you're going to be a mess when you get your log in info for status checkers.

Hey everybody. I sent about 30 emails yesterday requesting fee waivers (never know unless you ask) and have already had quite a few responses. I thought I'd share with everyone. I'll update with other responses as I get them

Iowa- only grant merit based waivers only for 165 and 3.85 or above.
Alabama- Have not decided whether or not they are doing merit based this year.
U. Washington- Washington residents only
Ohio State- will be sending them by e-mail from Mid-September to October
UC Davis- LSAC waiver only
UConn- sent me forms to fill out that my computer can't open.
Kentucky- sent me a form to fill out and want a "Why Kentucky?" 250 word essay
Villanova- happily waived my fee
Baylor- happy waived my fee (it might actually be waived for all LSAC apps)
Temple- finanicial need only
Richmond- happily waived my fee

Alabama granted me a waiver 2 weeks ago, not sure if they had a change in policy after that though.

I sent off requests to UVA, UMich, UChicago, Berkeley, Penn, and NYU. I was too afraid to send one to Columbia, Yale, Stanford, or Harvard.

So far I've heard back from UVA and Michigan--within the same day I sent them (those two were sent first). Both granted me a merit-based one, so I'd encourage people to try if you haven't already.

I'll keep you all posted.

UGA - Requested a week or so ago and was granted today.

Question: When you request a waiver and they give you a code to enter when you apply via LSAC ... where does this code get entered?! Will there be a place for this once you've completed and before you submit?

I've been sending some e-mail requests this week too. Got Michigan, Boulder, and BU so far. Georgetown asked for more info (I hadn't included my gpa in the original request) and haven't gotten back to me yet. Then I got a few responses asking me to either fill out the form, give a description of my financial need/how I would benefit from one, and then a few schools said they'd start sending them out in early september.
