I've emailed the schools that gave my waivers last year. Most have just given them to me. But a few have given me nonsensical replies like that.johnstuartmill wrote:With a 170/175 and a 3.47, I've gotten waivers from Minnesota, Notre Dame, and Vandy. I e-mailed Columbia to see if they'll give me a merit-based fee waiver, like they did last year, but they just directed me to their need-based waiver application. I think they're under the impression that they gave me a need-based application last year.

No, it's just their usual B.S. They do the same thing to everyone.johnstuartmill wrote:With a 170/175 and a 3.47, I've gotten waivers from Minnesota, Notre Dame, and Vandy. Re: Previous cycle's Columbia fee waivers
Do not e-mail them about this! If you do, they either will not reply or they'll reply with the standard "Sign up for CRS, fool, we'll give you one if we feel like it" (personally, they just didn't reply to mine.....ever). So I said, "Screw this, I'ma call 'em up." The guy I talked with on the phone said to 1) indicate on the LSAC page that you're going to send payment through old-time mail and then 2) print off the e-mail from last year and send that in.
I did that, my file's already been marked complete and payment received.

This will likely be what I do with the schools that have been replying to me like morons or just not replying to me at all.Helmholtz wrote:Do not e-mail them about this! But for me its only my safety schools (if this isn't any indication), so I'm not really worried about doing it anytime soon

On most applications you can select the "send payment directly to the school" option.

I see. Thank you.
Follow-up for Helmholtz: did you use your Columbia fee waiver last year? I did.

Florida schools don't waive the fees, except for financial need through LSAC, but the price is only $30

Yeah... darn. Well, we'll see how they treat my need-based application. Hopefully I'll be able to get my ED application in there in time, and without having to go hungry for the couple weeks afterward.

So no one has received USC yet? I'm sending out apps tomorrow and would really like to not pay for this one.JayTal wrote:I received one from UCLA yesterday. GW told me the same. And USC sent me an email saying they'd be sending them out tomorrow.86revolt wrote:UCLA told me straight up that I do not qualify for a merit-based fee waiver (jerks), GW told me they don't give those out, and USC directed me to their need-based fee waiver application. Oh well, got fee waivers from Emory, W&M, and WUSTL (two days before they emailed me one through CRS...wasted effort).
Anyone have any luck getting solicited fee waivers from UCLA, GW, or USC?

Jumping in on this thread...
I received fee waivers from:
U of Chicago
Duke
Vandy
Georgetown
UVA
UCLA
UGA
Emory
Notre Dame
Sorry I don't have specific dates on these. Anyone receive a fee waiver from BU? I'm holding off on my app, considering shooting an e-mail tomorrow.

Email BU. Include your LSAT and UGPA. Your numbers are good enough, so you should have a waiver tomorrow.likeaspark wrote:Anyone receive a fee waiver from BU? I'm holding off on my app, considering shooting an e-mail tomorrow.

What T14 waivers have other first-time (September) LSAT test takers received?
With 172/3.5x I've gotten Duke (PT), UVA, and Columbia. Really hoping for UMichigan, Cornell, Georgetown, Penn etc...does Northwestern even do them?
Has anyone received any from these schools? Are any responsive to e-mail requests?

I was not a first time taker, but I did get one from Northwestern with my sub-3.2 gpa and 170. But I have noted on CRS that I have 5 years of work experience, so that might be why.Tangerine Gleam wrote:What T14 waivers have other first-time (September) LSAT test takers received?
