Wait, Texas sent you a fee waiver??
Dear Waterman,
Thank you for your interest in The University of Texas School of Law. The University of Texas School of Law does not offer merit-based fee waivers. Application fee waivers for the University of Texas School of Law may be granted to applicants who can establish documented economic hardship....
So basically they are telling me: "I would totally go to the dance with you, but my grandmother is in the hospital, sorry." But, now I've spotted them at the dance WITH A ANOTHER MAN.

V. strange they're skipping over that range. I saw someone with a 170 get it and I got it with a 177. Someone with a 171 did not get it.GeePee wrote:Has anyone in the 172-175 range gotten CLS fee waivers yet this batch? It's supposed to be solely based on the LSAT, right?

It's ridiculous. You know that 98% of the application process is:hopefulundergrad wrote:Is anyone else annoyed by UCLA's long, arcane application?
1) LSAT
2) GPA
3) When application material arrived
I understand the long process for MBA schools as they actually take a holistic view of an applicant. When law schools pretend, it's just annoying.

maybe GPA>75th hurts, even though they claim its based on lsat only?

That makes a lot of sense for both you and GeePee. My GPA is < 25% so it potentially could be an issue of you guys being overqualified.capitalacq wrote:I didn't get it with a 170 or 178PoorOrpheus wrote:V. strange they're skipping over that range. You know what else is annoying? When they ask for work history a million different ways. Like "in school work," "summer work," "post-grad work," "full-time work," "work you did for daddy...." My work history is all the same - yes, I was in school while working, yes, it was full-time, yes, it was in the summer. I started off just putting it in the full-time section, but then realized it looked like I didn't work during the year, so put it in the "while in school" section, then realized, wait, it was over the summer, too, so I put it there, too.hypermeganet wrote:It's ridiculous. Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
I'd apply to CLS with a waiver.. but I'm leaning towards not applying without one.
It's funny.. a big part of what's holding up my apps (besides the PS) is that I'm waiting for word from my UG on whether or not I've been disciplined by them. I'm curious as to what their records state. I did catch an underage drinking ticket (later found not guilty) on campus before.

Texas and Chicago are the only schools I have on my list that did not give me a fee waiver. Chicago I can understand, but Texas...0L Hoping for 1 wrote:This is what the UT-Austin waiver looks like..

I emailed them and they gave the "we don't give merit based fee waivers." Why blatantly lie like that? I grew up in Texas, and that is not an appropriate way for a Texan to act.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
