Does anyone have any luck requesting waivers from:
-UC Davis
-UC Hastings
-Cornell
-GULC
-Columbia
-Stanford

I know a number of these schools are big reaches for me, but I know some schools give out waivers to students below their numbers. Anyone?
UC Davis: Told me only needs based
UC Hastings: Told me only needs based
Cornell: Rejected me
GULC: Rejected me

Did not try at Columbia or Stanford

Just fired off an email to Cornell. Received what seems to be an automated response stating that they only do it through CRS.

LSAT: 169
GPA: 3.74

Anyone with similar stats get one? It's the only school left on my list that does do merit-based waivers.

Davis gave me one through soliciting via e-mail. I did it before they established a policy for this year so I may have snuck in before they switched it all to need-based. The rest on the list I was denied or did not attempt.

Alabama responded within a day, on a Sunday, that i was granted a waiver. Does anyone have a feel for how long it takes these other admissions departments to respond to these requests?
I requested USD and got a code within a couple of days (YAYY) but I requested one on both merit and need. I gave them my LSAC#, GPA, LSAT and also a copy of my earnings statement to back up my self-reported "need".

I sent requests to Loyola LA (fax) and Berkeley (email) last Thursday and still have not heard back. I'll keep you guys posted though when they do.

Maybe I won't apply to Davis/Hastings after all-- LSN shows that they are not very generous with fee waivers or financial aid.

I got USC in the mail this morning. Too bad the only waiver I still care about is Columbia, which seems like it won't happen.

Michigan via snail mail.

Viewbook and three page letter enclosed with very specific personal information.

166, 3.47 with no chance, but for $12 why not.

So it sounds like a few people have gotten USC via snail mail...what are your stats? Still none in today's mail and this is one I'm really counting on. I got Michigan today (snail) and that's it.

175/3.98. I wouldn't generalize based on me, though, unless USC only likes giving out waivers to students that frankly have no intention of applying to/attending USC.

Columbia was one of the first waivers I got and I don't have a prayer of getting in... so that's weird.

NYU through snail male today. I have no chance of getting in, but I guess I'll still waste another $12...

I'm also from a UC and have a lower LSAT (4.02, 168) and I got a USC fee waiver last week via snail mail.

Did they write you a note? In mine "love" was underlined along with a note that said they love students from my undergrad...knew I wasn't that special haha

Had love underlined, but the only "personal" thing that was said was something like "all we know about you are database-friendly things like your GPA, LSAT and major"

(virgin poster, BTW ... time to stop just lurking!)

I've had a bunch of emails from schools I'd never heard of, then some nice ones (U.Va., U.Minn.), but no hidden ones until just now I discovered Northwestern. I wasn't even going to apply there ($100? really?), but what a great little boost. Seriously, these fee waivers are like crack for one's self esteem.

I am thinking about emailing to ask for merit-based waivers at: U. Colorado, U. Washington, U. Michigan, Duke, Cornell, and GULC. I see folks have reported varying levels of success. I really want Cornell and Michigan as they are top choices of mine. Any suggestions? I have 171/3.56 (and 6 years WE).

I had "love" underlined, but no note. That special feeling flowing back in yet?
I had love underlined but the nice touch was "I know people that went to AQ!"

-whether it is her or some freshman office worker, I dont care it made me happy on the inside. Went Ed today. Rejected Tomorrow.

Does it matter if I'm a reapplicant? Got rejected from USC last year, my stats this year are 173/3.76, haven't heard anything from USC.

In any case, fuck em.

Yeah, to hell with USC. Your stats are too good for them.

So far, the only T14 fee waiver I received is from Virginia.

I asked for, and got rejected (via a canned email), for fee waivers from Columbia, Michigan, and Penn. My numbers are in my profile.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
