Eh, I didn't get UT either. Not that I would apply anyway. The thought of living in Texas after graduation sends shivers down my spine.

UPenn's response to my request (I didn't get one with my 169, now I have a 171):

Dear Natalie:

Thank you for your message and interest in Penn Law. First, a few questions -

Have you opted-in for LSAC's Candidate Referral Service? Are you registered with the Credential Assembly Service? Finally, have you sent your most recent transcripts to LSAC? Absent all three steps, an applicant's potential fee-waiver might not be processed.

Please also note that our merit-based fee waivers are made available automatically in light of many criteria and that we do not grant them following individual requests.

In any event, we will send new waivers to candidates in late October; it will still be quite early in the process, as we will not begin to review most completed applications until December. Thus, we recommend not submitting the application (and thus not paying the fee) until late October. If you do not hear from us by then, you should move forward with your application and associated payment.

Finally, information about the need-based waiver process is found here:

https://www.law.upenn.edu/prospective/j ... #feewaiver

Best regards,

Penn Law Admissions
https://www.law.upenn.edu/

Then I looked and the hidden fee waiver was there this time. Yay!

Wow that worked? Nice!
UVA agreed to do it as well, but Columbia and Penn have said no. I'll keep everybody posted.
You saved me some money today. NYU, Chicago & Duke all responded pretty quickly with the lsac report waiver. I guess I owe you $50?

I can't believe that before today I was planning on paying the LSAC reporting fee for EVERY SCHOOL. Now I think I'll only have to pay it for about half my schools.

Update: I e-mailed Cornell about it even though I already applied. They told me that they'll just send a $12 check in the mail. Kickass!

Just discovered a waiver from Northwestern. I'd sent an email earlier, so not sure if it was because of that, or if it was already there.

Can't speak for Duke, but Cornell gave me the "if you get one it will be through CRS" response.

Duke gave me PT the morning after I sent my email. When did you email them?

Did anyone else get an e-mail from California School of Law? I read the e-mail and chuckled to myself.

I got that too, from both Duke and Cornell but I initially asked before my Sept retake. I re-emailed with a 172 and asked for PT from Duke too.

At least Texas Wesleyan has a building.

So is it considered okay to re-email? I emailed a bunch of schools with my June score of 161 (lowbies where 161 was near the high end...I didn't want to insult the better schools lol) and they all gave me standard replies of "Send us all your tax documents and we'll think about it." I went up to 170, and apps were really expensive, so I'm wondering if I should email again and ask.

Then again, do T2-4 schools just not give fee waivers? Lack of money? I imagine I might have some luck with USD, Loyola, and Pepperdine, but I don't know about the local yokels (Cal Western, etc).
