Unless you are in at a top 6 or so law school, none of you should be paying any money to go. The market is an EPIC DISASTER. The jobs are wayyyyy fewer and they are backed up already for years ahead. The classes of 2011, 2012, maybe 2013 are completely screwed. Schools are going from 250-300 at OCI to ~50, and those ~50 are slashing positions left and right. Wait 2 years and then apply.

No kidding. Mintz Levin set a grade cut-off of 179 here at Chicago. That's easily top fifth, if not closer to top ten percent.

I'm doing law school and then graduate school to get my Ph.D. I would've preferred doing it the other way around, but my ultimate interest is patent law, and you kind of need a Ph.D. to be taken seriously. Well, not really, but according to every inventor with whom I've spoke, talking to patent attorneys about science is like asking Dell tech support to translate Moby Dick, and expecting something intelligible.

So, 8 years until I'm on the market!
