Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
OK I couldn't wait the extra hour and ran out of work. And I'm glad I did. IN!!! My index was 4.3-4.4. I live very close to the law school.
SO PUMPED.
Edit: No financial aid offer in the letter. If I was going to get one, would it be in there? Or do they release some merit aid after you fill out the financial apps too?

Nothing for me in the mail today (4.3 index, ~72% on hourumd so far from auto-admit but competitive), upstate NY...but our mail is notoriously sketchy, so i'm still holding out for monday.

There's unwarranted bragging and then there's warranted bragging, and yours is definitely warranted!
Geez with your stats, you'll be saying the same thing except about HLS soon...
Congrats!

Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
I posted this in the "COLUMBIAAA!!!" thread, but I got in today as well! Mail came to my parents in South Jersey, letter postmarked 1/22. I'm going nuts right now, because I got into Penn last night - it's been, like, the single greatest 20 hours of my life.
Is it basically no-contest between Penn and Columbia? Because those are my two top choices, and I'm already nauseated by the prospect of choosing between them.

It depends on what you're looking for. If it's BigLaw, and some may disagree, but the employment prospects between the two of them aren't all too different...

In today with the 1/22 bunch, in Northwest PA.
So I gather that most scholarship offers come with the acceptance letter, but do all? I didn't get one today, and though I am so ecstatic to be in, money would be nice. I imagine need-based aid is awarded around March, but does anyone know of smaller merit rewards that go out later in the process? And congrats to all!

GPA isn't high enough for money at Columbia. Sorry =/JoetheSchmo wrote:In today with the 1/22 bunch, in Northwest PA.

This is mainly true, but not totally true. $$s will by no means be easy, but a min on LSN from last year shows you might have a good chance.

This of course is not all necessarily merit aid, but some of it is big enough that it must be in part.

Sorry to be annoying but are the acceptance packets yellow or green?
And how thick are they?
