Non-Academic Misconduct

Post by tpal » Mon Feb 12, 2018 2:04 pm

Some law school applications ask if applicants have had any non-academic misconduct while in school. During my early time in undergrad I had a minor alcohol violation on campus. There were no police involved and there were no real repercussions because it was a minor incident, but it was recorded by the University. Is this something that should be reported, and if so what kind of information should a statement about it include? I have seen official copies of my transcript and there is no note about the incident.

When in doubt, disclose.

I had the same thing, a drinking in the dorm citation filed with the residence hall. Just disclose. They asked for more details, but the residence hall had long since purged the documents. I sent the "we don't keep records more than 4 years" response from the UG school as support, and it wasn't an issue.
