Hi, I just wanted others opinions on the accuracy of the reported GPA and LSAT statistics coming from LSN. Wouldn’t there be a high level of volunteer bias in the sense that the numbers are misrepresentative of actual admissions data? It’s more likely that there are a higher number of accepted applicants reporting their GPA and LSAT scores than the actual amount that actually applied with a specific combination, right? I mean how likely is someone to create and account and post their admissions data if they didn’t get into a particular school, thus skewing the acceptance rates to be higher than they actually are due to students who actually got in being more likely to self-report? Just wanted to know if anyone has more info on this. Thanks for your time.

Yes, MyLSN is imperfect, but it's a much better predictive tool than anything else out there, especially if you play around with GPA ranges to get a decent sample size.

LSN is accurate if you're a KJD or someone without a lot of work experience. It skews a little conservative if you have legit work experience/are nontraditional.

Overall, pretty accurate, IMO

I wouldn't use LSN for acceptance rates but rather an imperfect predictor. For example, if you see rejections and/or no acceptances at a certain number range you may deduce that it's unlikely you would be accepted. On the other hand, if you see lots of acceptances at or below a number range you may deduce that you are likely to be accepted. Nobody is representing it as a bible, just a tool for us neurotic law school hopefuls.

Conservative for non-trad what sense? Do you mean that non trad students typically will have a lower acceptance rate at a certain grade point and lsat score than KJDs? And if that is what you meant, could you elaborate on why? How could work experience go against you?

Other way around. The estimates on MyLSN are conservative for non-traditional students because the site will underestimate the non-traditional student's chances of admission.
