T6 Why X - ever worth sending as a late addendum?

I applied broadly and wrote Why X essays for all schools that weren't in the top 6. Cycle is going well so far but I feel like, for the first time, I maybe have a 'top choice' school - one I haven't heard from yet (no decisions yet) and one that is in the top 6. The more time I have to learn about the school, the more invested I feel in potentially attending.
Would it be helpful or obnoxious to contact them at this point with a Why X? I feel like it's the latter, but man. I just don't want to miss my shot.

Nope.
You can do it for peace of mind, but HYSCCN don't do yield protection.

If you're talking about CCN, I'd bet a large sum of money that you get into all of those. (without addendum)

Thanks to you both - and I hope you're right cb63! I guess I'm being impatient, but need to trust that a time for communicating my interest will come along.

Dean Faye at SLS has spoken approvingly about applicants submitting letters of continued interest/Why SLSs if they submitted their applications early in the cycle and have not heard back around late December/January.
Relevant portion of the question:
I wanted to know at what point in the season you would think it appropriate to send in a Letter of Continued Interest if we applied earlier in the season, such as in September or October?
Faye's Response:
If you’ve not heard from us, it is indeed appropriate to send in a letter of continued interest. While the primary reason of this letter is to show us that you remain interested in SLS, it also shows me that you are an active and engaged participant in this process. Many applicants take the approach of “I’ve done my part and now I just need to wait it out” or “I’ve met all the application requirements and I’ll just sit back and wait for SLS to do their part.” Fair enough. This approach works. However, is it a bad thing to stay a bit more engaged? You just need to exercise some good judgment, though, and decide how much is enough versus becoming a pain.
Who knows how much this really helps, but if it helps you feel better and is a solid letter then it seems like they don't look down on them.

Thank you for sharing this - very helpful! Sounds like the answer may be that it's not a terrible idea but only if your application is not moving (and really not moving, according to rational markers) after several months - i.e. not now.
