Diversity HELP

Post by jackfromucla2016 » Wed Dec 13, 2017 7:12 pm

Hello,
I am Sephardic and my family is middle eastern. I spoke to many people and have done my research and Sephardic people have Spanish roots. I was born in America but my parents are immigrants from the middle east. I am applying to law schools in the next couple of days and i put that i am Spanish/Latino on my apps because i know this would help my chances in getting in. My best friend is Latino and he got into a great school with not that good of score because of this. I don't want to lie on my apps but the roots of Sephardic is Spanish.
What do you guys think.

Please help guys.

I am also writing my diversity statement on how my family were immigrants and i grew up in that household. My skin color is brown as well.

Can't tell if troll.

If real, just because being Sephardic has roots in Spain or tracing one's roots to the Islamic Moors that were ousted during the Spanish Inquisition doesn't make you Latino.

But you do you.

Finally, the offensive on-topic thread we've all been waiting for.

Oh dear god no.

If not troll: that's not how being Sephardic works and that's definitely lying on your apps.

If troll: yeah, no.

Either way, no need for further spectacle.
