Life happened, now I need advice

Post by wmbuff » Wed Nov 08, 2017 10:57 am

[Edit] Things went wrong, I asked for some help, and folks helped me find some clarity. Thank you.

the data is small on mylsn, but 4/4 candidates I found with 2.5-2.7 and 170-180 were rejected at Michigan, so you could probably hold off on that if necessary. 2/2 applicants to U Minnesota were accepted with 120k scholarships, so it seems you've got a good chance at that fee waiver.

You should ask every school you want to apply to for a fee waiver, whether you think you'll get it or not. I think 75% of my apps were free.

Just an fyi so that future posts don't confuse people, YP is usually used to refer to a school waitlisting a candidate they would otherwise accept but feel that they are going to attend a different school. While Harvard enticing applicants they are definitely going to reject is technically a form of yield protection, using YP for that situation is generally an odd thing to do on here
