Recommendation Letters

My recommender wants to know if she can refer to my ethnicity in telling a story of how I overcame a certain obstacle. Is this permitted in rec letters, and will admissions disapprove of this? I don't mind if she mentions my ethnicity as long as she explains the story's context.

LORs can say whatever the recommender feels is relevant to their recommendation. If your ethnicity somehow ties to why you're a strong candidate in their mind, they should use it. I'm not entirely sure how/why that fits in to why you're a strong applicant for law school, but that's not for me to decide.

Ah okay, thank you. I will reiterate the importance of explaining why I'm a good applicant to law school to my recommender.
