Work Experience equivalent to LSAT points?

Postby ScroogeMcDuck » Wed May 10, 2017 6:37 pm

Hi everyone,

One of my former professors (former lawyer) said that four years of work experience is like four points on your LSAT score in the eyes of admin committees. Is this true? False? Would four years work experience translate into any LSAT or GPA boost? Just curious.

False. Very, very false. It's a slight tiebreaker among exactly identical applicants, but that level of exactness almost never happens. You'll perform largely how your numbers suggest you shouldwith minor variability.

I'm willing to bet a person working at McDonald's Corporate for 20 years with a 150 will not get in over kjd with a 160 let alone the matched 170.

The type of work experience matters, but I don't think you can equate it to LSAT points. Impressive work experience may make up a few tenths on a lackluster UGPA though.
