NYLS(full ride) v. Villanova(minimal)

Post by legal_eagle324 » Wed Mar 29, 2017 12:41 pm

Could someone help me decide if it's better to take a full ride and walk out of law school with no debt or choose a better ranked school and have a chance at getting a large firm job?

LSAT/GPA? Where do you want to work? Are you goals to work at a large firm? If so, neither of these options will get you there unless you are at the top of your class (and even then it is still not a sure thing), and being at the top is never guaranteed.

also, this should've gone in the "choosing a law school" sub-forum, not this one! ;P

I agree with Mikey that you need to provide details before anyone can give you advice.

Also, rankings down really matter that much with NYLS and Nova. The only numbers you should be looking at are:

https://www.lstreports.com/schools/newyork/

Conclusion: Villanova with a bunch of debt is a high-risk investment.

Definitely not Villanova.
I wouldn't do either.

It depends - do you want to be a television judge?
