Beware: everyone clamoring for T-13 nomenclature are actually GULC lurkers in disguise. T-13 is FAKE NEWS!! Don't listen to them. They would sooner change the whole ranking system than accept the reality of being a TTT.

Bevo hooked GULC hard in the gut. Let them die. All hail the new T-14.

Let the information war begin.

The real reason UT isn't and won't be considered a top tier school is the 40% BL+FC number. That number is probably a fair reflection of student quality, considering the LSAT/GPA numbers.

Or it may be a reflection of the large transfer classes that UT was accepting in the past few years. They lowered initial class sizes to around 250ish, but were accepting 50+ transfers every year. Transfer students were doing terribly at OCI and other big firm hiring.

I would love to see how a smaller transfer class and a smaller incoming class size would reflect in those numbers. I seriously think UTs actually numbers for beginning UT students are closer to 45-50% biglaw/fed clerk (but that's just my feeling.)

For many reasons, I really do need to get a life. Agreed.

Just wanted to address all the clamoring about UT's regionality. Of course it's a regional school. The artificial bump in rankings isn't material beyond the ego boost that a UT Law student or grad obtains. But, if this bump somwhow affects Texas law firms' perception of UT Law, then this is helpful for UT students. The self-selection is anecdotal truth w/r/t me. I passed on the T-13 because of COL and a desire to stay in Texas. UT kids generally are not interested in the northeast, if not their not from there originally. The quality of life in Austin/Dallas/Houston/Denver on or near a BigLaw salary is laughably better than in NYC/DC. Plus, Texas cities are becoming HUGE markets. Look where the population growth is occurring. It's Texas and further west. The goal should be for UT to obtain parity with T7-T13 schools concerning the Houston/Dallas/Austin/Fort Worth markets going forward. But I wouldn't expect some kind of huge bump of Texas kids flocking to NYC to live as a pleb.

Deep down I'm just super Jelly that I don't have a T14 school in my home state that would give me a ~50% chance of in-state big law in a cool city for cheap tuition and no COL

Oh man I can't wait in several years when people will look at my CV and say "he came from THAT shitheap and he made it to Biglaw? He MUST be special!"

Hopefully counteracts the boost others from the T13 get from, y'know, being good schools.

Not dinged, but definitely salty. Holding on to my acceptance/scholarship offer until the last possible second out of spite for having wasted $30 applying to that lawless dump.

In that case, you'll want to submit the Tentative Reservation by 4/15 and withdraw on 5/31 right before the Final Reservation deadline.

ehh, it really only fell 2 spots. It went from 8-12 sure, but with a 3 way tie for 8 there were only Duke and Northwestern behind it. That is very common movement for a T14, although it assumes that Boalt was 10 in a no tie scenario. Also the entire concept of the T14 is that things change internally. It's different than being bumped out of the bubble

I predicted this earlier in the thread. Come next year, it will be official- the T12. Get rid of the two schools dragging down the former t14. Finally we are breaking free from the bondage of the former power structure and are now beginning to see the rise of the true top schools- the all hailed T12!

interesting. well I hope that spite serves you well! and I'll selfishly hope that many people feel the way you do so it can free some scholarship money for me as I will gladly attend that "lawless dump" with a hefty scholarship
