Resume Question for an unemployed applicant

Postby mudiverse » Sun Oct 16, 2016 11:03 pm

Hi folks,

I was wondering what the consensus was for law school resumes where the applicant is unemployed.

For the past year, I have been unemployed largely because I had to be the caretaker for a family member. Before that point, I was employed for a year in an accounting firm.

To be perfectly frank, I have been caught up between my ailing sibling and prepping for the LSAT (which I took this past September). Does anyone have any recommendations to address this? Should I just leave the gap as is and write an addendum describing the situation? I'm afraid it'll sound like a cop-out for someone just sitting on his ass.

Don't put anything on the resume. Write a brief addendum.
