173/3.78 from top undergrad. I took GRE and did fairly well, 168Q/164V. Can I list these scores on my resume? I don't have much in my academic section besides double major, my school doesn't have dean's list, and I am still in undergrad so no academic honors yet. Thanks

Wouldn't I seem kind of like a tool listing "anticipated honors" ? I don't think I have seen that on any sample resumes I have seen.

No, don't list GRE scores on your resume. They're really not relevant.

If anything, those GRE scores take away from your LSAT. (But not really.)

Grrr... Seems like nothing is easy in this process. I thought I might just put a line at the bottom like SAT 2290 LSAT 173 GRE 164/168 but now I don't know. I was originally going to retake LSAT in Sept because I PT'd higher but got dinged on that from my advisor at school. Funny thing is I studied for LSAT for 2 months and for GRE for about 2 days. I need a law school application class or something. This is like sticking sharp needles in my eyes.

What do you mean you got dinged on retaking the LSAT? You absolutely can retake and should if you think you're going to score higher. Law school advisors are notoriously terrible.

I tend to think your adviser is stuck in the days of averaging the LSAT scores, which isn't done anymore. If you will probably score higher on the LSAT, retake.

As for listing your SAT score on your LS resume... am I the only one who thinks that would be kinda weird?

Great, now I've stopped studying and have to go back to school this week. That's what I thought too. She said I would need to explain why I would retake when I already had a great score, and said it was too risky because I could score lower. Said just to apply early with strong PS and rec's. Stupid me, I thought the advisor would be somewhat knowledgeable in this area!!!

I saw the SAT LSAT listed on my friends resume that goes to UVA. That's how I originally got it in my head I guess.

And I should probably back down from being so dogmatic. I don't think it *hurt* you to throw your GRE score into a law school application. I just don't think it's really going to add anything. I think SAT is going back a little too far. But since so much of the application is about numbers, it's not like including those scores is going to make a school value your GPA/LSAT any less.

I wouldn't worry about it - you got a 173 on your only take, which is solid no matter what your goals are. A 173 on one take probably looks better than a 173 on 2 takes to an adcomm at the schools that you'll be targeting.

Then again, I'm a random keyboard warrior, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I appreciate everyone's help. I do not want to wait and take Dec. LSAT and be so late to apply, I already have my PS done and LOR's in. I know I could wait a year, take the LSAT again and apply early in cycle next year, but really did want to go right after undergrad. Since I am not sure yet what my top school choices are this decision is more difficult. I liked U Penn a lot, not so keen on Columbia or NYU. Want to look at Duke, UVA and Harvard. Is it better to apply this year with current numbers and see what happens and re apply next year if not happy with outcome, or just wait for next cycle? Still unsure about listing GRE scores on resume. When I started thinking about law school I was told it was all about the numbers. Wrong.

i feel like putting test scores on your resume is weird

and for the LS app it wont help at all

Law school is all about the numbers, but only GPA and LSAT matter (schools can't report GRE scores to USNWR). You can definitely apply this year and reapply if you don't like the outcome. You can also apply with your current score, take in December, and update schools if your score improves - it can help with both admission and getting money.
