Addendum for two C's in first semester ?

Postby j0elanz » Mon Aug 22, 2016 6:05 pm

Apologies ahead of time if I'm overthinking this.

Halfway through my first semester I switched majors from engineering to English. Best decision I've ever made.

However, after the switch I neglected two courses, University Physics and Intro to Engineering, and ended up receiving two C+'s that semester.
My overall GPA for the semester was 3.1. For the rest of college, it was always 4.0 or close. Should I attempt to explain that first semester in an addendum, or not draw any extra attention to it?

Thanks.

I don't think an addendum is necessary for that. Especially since your overall GPA should be very solid.

This definitely sounds like overkill. There's such thing as too many addenda

Nah don't do it. Adcomms recognize that freshman can screw up their first semester or first year. It's not that uncommon I believe, so it shouldn't be something to write them about.
