3.1, 178. apply ED anywhere?

Post by aquaphor37 » Sat Aug 13, 2016 2:58 pm

these are apparently the worst students accepted to each school (sorted by lowest accepted gpa, then sorted again by lowest accepted LSAT: source http://lawschoolnumbers.com). My GPA and lsat when multiplied together come out to 551.8. Thinking I should apply ED to Penn, UVA, or even Northwestern. Won't be able to claim racial minority status.

Don't ED anywhere but NU unless you have a spare $150K or more laying around and even then it's probably dumb.
Get your apps in early and you've got a shot at a few school in the T14.

Only apply ED to a school you'd actually want to go to, should you get in, even if you had to pay sticker price

CLS ED may be a way of helping you get in, as your numbers are iffy for them. If NYU, I'd go regular decision because I think you'll be able to negotiate at least a little bit of money. NU ED would be a really good option as theirs comes with 150K, which is probably more than you're looking at anywhere else in the t14. UVA or Penn may let you in ED but it'd be full price and less prestige than CLS or NYU... I'd probably have my options be ED NU, RD everywhere and hope for money at NYU, ED CLS, ED UVA/Penn in that order if I was you.

Seriously, don't ED anywhere other than NU. Prestige is not worth the cost and there are a hundred other people on this site who will tell you the same thing. Even if you have $150K+ just lying around, there are way better uses for it than buying a degree at Columbia over a degree at another school. ED kills your options.
