Can someone explain this to the initiated? I thought the 2016 rankings just came out, how can it really changing again?

The 2016 rankings came out in 2015. They are released in March of each year, and are always labeled for the following year. So the rankings for the period of March 2016 to March 2017 are the "USNWR 2017 Rankings".

I think it may be because a student who is researching graduate schools (and reading rankings) in 2016 is looking to attend school in 2017.

Thanks for the explanation. For some reason I thought they just changed. I should have done research on the law school ranking and admission process before I applied for law school, I guess. Next time!

They're real. Read between the lines.

If they accidentally posted incorrect rankings, they would say: "Those are not the real rankings."

If they accidentally post the real rankings, they say: "We cannot vouch for the accuracy of any data or information that appear about the rankings."

I thought the same thing but fortunately nobody listed any of the schools tied at #50 in their top 25, so I think it'll work fine

We got up to 83 entries this year on a sadly shrunken time frame (late start + early leaks + tendency for TLSers to pile on right before the deadline in previous years), so not too shabby but I wish we had broken 100 again
