Any advantages of taking the June LSAT administration?

Postby i like redheads » Wed Apr 08, 2015 10:41 am

That is, taking it in June and applying in September over taking it in October and applying in mid November...

I know, I know, the higher score will trump everything. But all things considered, is there any advantage? And I'm only talking about the top 10 law schools because those are the only ones I'm applying to. (If I don't get into any, I wont go to law school at all and will continue working in adult entertainment).

Scores being equal, then yes--there is an advantage to applying earlier.
November is by no means late though.

Taking in June gives you an opportunity to retake in October (and Decemeber), should you need it. However, you'd also be given amply opportunity to retake an October score.

Take it when you're ready. Study for June but postpone if you're not hitting or exceeding your goals on your PT's.

would I be screwed if I took it in December and applied in January? Again, this inquiry is only for the T10--in particular YHS.

Not ideal, but not screwed.

Assuming uGPA above HLS's median, and LSAT slightly above HLS's median, and URM status...

Every random poster comes here with lofty goals and huge assumptions.
Sure, if all those things pan out, you'll have a great cycle even with a January application.

Why are you asking about the December LSAT now though? Have you started studying?

Yes. I'm testing in the 168-171 range. I still have PTs 60-74 leftover that I haven't touched. My real goal is 175+. So if I ain't in that range by the June deadline I will take it in October.

And I'm asking about December because if I fuck up on October, and it can happen because Anything is possible, I will have to do december

: )

Does my plan make sense? I already have work experience, and my uGPA is set. The only thing I need is a YHS worthy LSAt score.

Are u applying this cycle?

Yes it seems like you're on the right track.

And no I'm not. I'm an 0L turning into a neverL. You can have my spot.

More appealing opportunities in the next couple years. Law school isn't going anywhere.
