Also these tiers are rife with "C" and "N" ambiguity. I consider that a strength. It lets the reader come up with his own interpretation.Cobretti wrote:doesn't have G/G, these rankings are a farseBigZuck wrote: Doesn't matter, UCLA/USC are regional schools and rankings after the T14 are insignificant. Not sure if SFJ was around in my day (not that long ago). For those schools that hand out SFJ to those not offered ... how does the school choose who receives a SFJ and who doesn’t? Lottery, grades or ... ?

Re: Latest employment data
Depends on the type of SFJ. I think at a lot of schools it's like an entitlement program. If you qualify (you're unemployed), you get it if you can find a place to work that meets the criteria.twenty 8 wrote:Not sure if SFJ was around in my day (not that long ago). The SFJ that look more like fellowships? Not clear. One of LST's projects this summer will be to get that information out there.

pretty sure it has to do with deans calling in favors since its a a new school and the first years stats are pretty important.PeanutsNJam wrote:Why is UCI's fed clerk so high
I wouldn't expect it to continue this high. Wasn't its inaugural class like 50% BL/FC?

anything under 70 % and i feel comfortable categorizing Northwestern into the bowels of the T12

At this point, if you're aiming for NYC biglaw, why wouldn't you just take the money from Cornell rather than go to CNP?

Sure, at comparable cost nobody would choose Ithaca presumably, but just think about how much easier it is to get a huge scholarship at Cornell than at CNPBrazilBandit wrote:Because Ithaca? I "chose" Ithaca for undergrad, and I love it.Hand wrote:Sure, at comparable cost nobody would choose Ithaca presumably, but just think about how much easier it is to get a huge scholarship at Cornell than at CNPBrazilBandit wrote:Because Ithaca? Great job by Cornell.
Also, glad we just assume everyone in the t14 wants NYC BigLaw.

Doesn't a large proportion of the top of Cornell's class transfer out? And then don't they also not let transfers participate in OCI? Their numbers are kind of mind boggling if both those are true

Yeah, I think it was 18 out 7 in this year. And you're right on the OCI points too, mostly (transfers in can do OCI and other job fairs that happen later in August, if they are accepted early enough).BigZuck wrote:Doesn't a large proportion of the top of Cornell's class transfer out? Guesses on what % will be the highest? Looks like ~85% is a possibility, no?

I hope I am not A-hole to ask this, but can you please adjust the width of the columns for "change" and "BL + FedClerk 2013." Makes it easier for my tiny laptop screen to view the data. Also, if we can see the change from 2014-13 applicants I think it would be helpful. If I can help with the spreadsheet let me know.BrazilBandit wrote:Thanks! FWIW, I saw at least two of the transfers in at OCI this past year.toothbrush wrote:Yeah, I think it was 18 out 7 in this year.
