Re: Latest employment data
When I added BL + FC + PI, I think it was like 82% NYU and 81% UPenn. UPenn had 9 kids in PI compared to NYU's 54 or something.. I think the self-selection of PI from NYU is a real thing since the level of solos (0) and people working in small law firms is still really low considering the size of the school.DCNTUA wrote:Penn killing New York U feels pretty nice.
TL;DR, I think NYU/Penn did about the same this year...both were awesome.

Re: Latest employment data
no question penn has strong biglaw placement
but you penn kiddos should understand that nyu's bl/fc has always been lowered through pi self-selection, while penn is known for having a lot of bl/fc gunners, inflating bl/fc
if you want a full explanation of how bl/fc doesn't correlate well with placement advantage within the t14, go back a few pages in this thread
there's also a convo we had recently about how nyu generally leads penn placement-wise, in which i point out an elite firm placement advantage (which is indicative of lower cut-offs) and high oci success rate, both of which are better indicators of placement advantage than bl/fc, search my post history for details
in the interest of not having to repeat this argument for the 5th time with overexcited penn kiddos, i'll let my previous posts stand for themselves

Cornell had 9 out of 194, too. It's almost shameful...I'm pretty sure I can count the entire PI-gunning population of my class right now without using all ten of my fingers llolDCNTUA wrote:We don't believe in public interest here.runinthefront wrote:When I added BL + FC + PI, I think it was like 82% NYU and 81% UPenn. Keep your day job, starry eyes. Unless, that is, you intended "c" to signify Chicago--in which case we may have a position for you here at Trollmerica Industries.starry eyed wrote:CCc >Nn>Gg

Really incredible to see the difference between t14 schools and state flagships(that are not in the t14). Waiting to see if UT/vandy/UCLA, are more comparable to t14 or basically everything else.

everything else.. Vandy might do well overall because of the small class size but in the big law clerkship there is no comparison to a t-14..

Eh. For the life of me I don't know why we are still letting GULC masquerade as a top school, but vandy will probably have BL+FC rates comparable to them.MikeJD wrote:timmyd wrote:Really incredible to see the difference between t14 schools and state flagships(that are not in the t14).
