LMU vs. Chapman, or wait for Pepperdine Decision

Postby ElSanto951 » Thu Mar 26, 2015 2:22 am

Post-law school i want to stay in Southern California and i am not aiming at a Big Law job.

I have been accepted to LMU with a 110K+ merit scholarship and Chapman with a full ride. Still waiting to hear from Pepperdine for a decision (est 6 weeks).

I am leaning towards LMU but I am not sure if I should wait for Pepperdine to get back to me. What do :?: :?: :?: :?:

These schools are pretty bad. Or, at least, not very good.

What do you want to do with a JD?

If you want to do PI then I would limit debt as much as possible. Be ready to hustle for a job from day 1.

I got accepted to Pepperdine but the scholarship is no where near to what I'm getting from Loyola or Chapman. I am definitely leaning towards Loyola. Deposit for Chapman is due on Wednesday. It's time to decide!

All that considered I am going to visit Loyola tomorrow for an admitted students event. I have checked out Chapman because i live relatively near it, and i'm not really won over by the campus. We shall see after tomorrow.

There are PI loan forgiveness programs. I don't remember the details but I'd look into them and probably choose LMU.
Your plan shouldn't be to hustle for a job from day 1 but to grind hard for exams from day 1. Then you should hustle and network from day 2 (2L).

Edit: Oh, but make sure you get something PI lined up for summer after 1L. Other than that study hard 1L and don't really focus on much else other than exercise and taking care of yourself.
