As often as MBB is mentioned on TLS, nobody ever acknowledges this point: management consulting seems incredibly boring and stressful. Working at McKinsey isn't cool; having McKinsey on your resume so you can do something better is cool.

Well I would only get into mid-tier consulting firms. You need to go through UG recruiting to get into the top-tier ones like Mckinsey, bain, bcg so that ship has sailed for me. LOL

Wait are we talking about dental consulting? That sounds pretty sick, why be a dentist and get your hands all up in people's teeth when you can just advise the people how to proceed with a real dentist

You must be severely RETARDED if you can't define what the specific tasks are without using generalizations. You are the big dummy here

Says the one displaying several tell tail signs of aspergers ITT and others.

Note: not hating on the disabled, just making a point.

It blows my mind that in 2015 people still talk like this. (Yes, still surprised notwithstanding Polly's proclivity to say dumb things).

Consultants make more than $70-80k. That salary is a Senior Consultant salary. Managers make more. Consultants generally make power-point presentations and stare at microsoft excel and access. They do financailly modeling and other boring stuff. They also install health care financial systems and other boring stuff. LIke Epic products.

How difficult is it to transfer to MBB from one of the lower-tier ones?
It is easy if you have consulting skills and do similar work that MBB does. Example going from Strategic sourcing at AT Kearney to Booz Allen's Sourcing Group.
