Advice on when to apply

Post by lurkerlarry » Sat Mar 21, 2015 10:09 pm

So I'm starting work at big company in a few weeks, and my role is legally related and probably will look good / interesting on my resume.

I have two other unique work experiences, but I'm wondering if applying this upcoming cycle in October will make my new job not seem as impressive. While I certainly plan to stay there until next July or so (a little over a year) I'm concerned that schools might not give it as much weight since I will only have been working there a few months when I apply.

Would the experience be more impressive/useful if I were applying in the 2016-2017 cycle? In this case I would have over a year of experience under my belt at this company plus the additional year by the time I started law school.

Thoughts?
