Given that all that matters when someone transfers is their 1L GPA in comparison to his/her peers, the absolute GPA number shouldn't matter much, right? For example, a studnet ranked the 10th at school X with a 3.79 GPA is treated the same as a student ranked 10th with a 3.66 at comparable school Y.
If this is the case, the reported ABA required disclosures for transfers aren't really that informative; as they only report the numerical GPAs for the 25th, 50th and 75th matriculating students.
Would appreciate some clarification about this subject (I am not a 0L intending to transfer, I just want to understand how this stuff works).
