Revoking admission for GPA drop

Post by rustyburger2 » Mon Mar 09, 2015 11:48 am

Is that possible/likely? My final semester is about to be pretty bad (probably a D and a few C's) but I've already been accepted to a number of upper t14's.

You have some solid posts.

You're halfway through the semester. Why are you consigning yourself to a 2.0 semester? I can't say for sure that it will get your offer rescinded but why would you risk that? There's very few plausible reasons you can't just put in some effort and pull out B- in these classes.

I'm trying to figure out whether or not it is a risk.

I'm no admissions expert, but I would say that not failing a class significantly reduces your chances of having your offers rescinded for failing a class
Not if the chance of having it rescinded in the first place is 0% - which is exactly what I'm trying to figure out.

I'd bet that this is dependent on your GPA and your LSAT

If you're borderline they have a dozen people on the waitlist w/your numbers.

This question is frequently asked, but no one has ever reported (although there is obviously a disincentive to) getting rejected after their final transcript comes in.

Well I do know someone, lets call him Fred. This is anecdotal evidence I know. Fred decided he didn't want to care about his senior year after getting admitted early decision to a T-14 (lets say one that might have had the worst Monday out of all the other t-14s). Well Fred slacked off hard, doing really poorly his senior year. His thesis barely passed, he received D's I believe in all classes. The t-14 did revoke his admittance after final transcripts, citing poor performance. Fred is now elsewhere, albeit much lower school.

Also Fred is not me. But he is/was a friend.

Sorry what exactly do you mean by that?

Also, any chance you might be willing to say which t14 (or at least what range) it was?

This is such a stupid line of questioning. Put in minimal effort and get a B-. End of story.

Even if it didn't affect your admission status, you don't want to kill your undergrad GPA if you can avoid it...what if law school doesn't work for you and you drop out? Then you undergrad GPA will likely be what you put on your resume. I would try your hardest regardless of any possible effect on your admission.

Jesus, this comment is like the epitome of TLS stereotypes.

Look man, I'm not looking for advice or judgement here - I'm just looking for information.
