LOR Writer Selection

Postby mattf » Sun Feb 08, 2015 8:34 pm

Is there a specific type of person that I should look for when getting LORs? I'm a Chemistry major so would it be better for me to get letters from Chem teachers or from the Poli Sci classes I will be taking here soon?

Whoever knows you the best and can best speak to your potential to succeed academically.

It's better to get at least one professor from your major. It's suspicious if you don't.

I recently wrote a guide that may be able to help you http://www.takeyoursuccess.com/how-to-r ... ad-school/

This is true, but I wouldn't sweat it too much. I've always been under the impression that LORs are just a box you have to check and will by no means make or break your application.
