It is possible to gain bar admission in my state even with criminal convictions. The problem you may encounter is that theft is a crime of moral turpitude, so it reflects more negatively on your fitness to practice law than a DWI, for instance. The Board of Law Examiners in my state requires many applicants to undergo some type of remediation, but there are very few factors that will operate as an absolute bar from admission. If you're willing to jump through a few hoops, you would probably be admitted eventually.slsidsa wrote:i have 2 five year old theft convictions that have been expunged. is it still possible to be admitted to a state bar anywhere?
