Requesting LORs now for next year's cycle?

Post by Valamar » Tue Jan 13, 2015 4:37 pm

Hi guys, I'm currently a junior looking to apply in the 2015-16 cycle. Would it be possible for me to request LOR submissions to LSAC now for consideration in next year's cycle, or will I have to wait until the summer? Thanks in advance for your advice

You can do it now as long as you've already paid the CAS fee. I would recommend the earlier the better since recommmenders can take awhile to write them

Yep, it's best to get them while you are fresh on your profs' minds. Your LSAC account will expires after 5 years, I believe.

I did, but that's because I knew I had a very solid LOR coming from a ridiculously busy professor and I figured he'd need plenty of time to write it. FWIW, I submitted the request in March and didn't get it back until late-July.
