If your family is cool with spending a quarter of a million dollars on your education, I would still retake to give myself a chance at a better school. Get up a few more points and you could probably ED UVA.

Where do you want to practice, and what do you want to do?

5 times is a little excessive. That could actually be too many, maybe ask Mike Spivey in his Q&A thread. Honestly, I would just ED a T-14 (not GULC). Maybe Cornell or Michigan? Since you want NYC, any T14 school is a good choice. If the ED deadlines have passed, I guess just apply regular decision to all the mid/lower T-14, and Vanderbilt, WashU, Fordham, BU, and BC.

Wouldn't bother with Emory, GW, ND, or W&M. Not saying they are bad schools, but they just don't really match your desired markets.

and not GULC because of the large class, employment rates, and price?

thanks for the info about those schools' markets.

Well, I'm taking price out of the equation because it sounds like you have wealthy parents/family. Mainly due to employment rates. According to the data we have, NYC biglaw is easier to get from Cornell or Michigan than GULC. Some of that may be due to DC self-selection, I really don't know. But I think Cornell would be your best option. Great placement in NYC biglaw.

I would still throw an app to Mich. Good luck!

I would throw out apps to most of the lower T14 schools. A 167 is very valuable in today's admissions climate. For all we know, Cornell and Georgetown might struggle to maintain their 167 median this cycle. Your GPA hurts your chances, but I think you are in pretty good shape overall.

I would cover the lower T14, apply to UCLA/Vandy/UT/USC/Wash U since you will probably get major money to some of those schools, and send out apps to BU/BC as safety options (maybe even GW, but I would avoid). That's all you really need.
