Fee waiver appeal question

Post by Skool » Sat Sep 13, 2014 8:57 pm

I know there's been past discussion on appeals but the stuff I found after a quick search seemed dated.

My background is, I'm not rich, but I'm not poor (yet). Any little emergency or change in employment status could easily force my finances to get out of hand. They're under control, but Its not prudent to spend almost 1k on anything. I want to know if anyone has (recently) had success using any of these arguments to appeal fee waiver denial with lsac.

1. I'm aggressively paying off my ug loans in preparation for law school (5k in five months, another 11k to go in the next year)

2. My savings is strictly for emergencies in the event I get laid off in the next month or have to bail myself out of prison (my family isn't in a position to help me out of a jam)

3. Lsac doesn't consider my credit card debt of around 2k.

Just ask the schools for waivers.
