Law School Spring Break

Post by kobe1020 » Tue Mar 25, 2014 3:21 am

as a 0L, I'm getting curious about how law school students spend their time during Spring break...take the whole week off just as undergrads or grads student, or work our ass off to get more reading done?...or somewhere in the middle?.

At least somewhere in the middle... But really depends on how close your SB is to finals, if your brief is due before or after SB, and lots of other school specific things... But I wouldn't count on being able to truly take the whole week off as a 1L

Probably varies, I met some students at ASWs that go to the Caribbean every spring break.

1L here: It's all over the place. We have 2 weeks at NU and some people are taking incredible vacations for the entire duration. I stayed back with a good # of people and have gone some days studying the entire time, but also took entire days off to drink. I don't think anyone's going to spend the ENTIRE time studying, but I also don't know how smart it would be to take the entire time off, unless you're really on top of your shit and the time off will help you come back ready to kill it for last bit of semester + finals.

TL;DR - depends on the student.

Working less than usual and taking a legitimate break somewhere warm. That's what I've done both breaks and it's helpful for me to feel refreshed afterwards.

Netflix and booze interspersed with panicked studying.

I definitely took it easy. Had plenty of time to lay around, work out, and drink. It was refreshing. Didnt do much reading or OLing.

Gotta go HAAM now tho

Also depends if you're on a semester or quarter system. I'm on quarter system, and some of my classmates are taking exotic trips, some have gone home, some to Las Vegas. Really just depends.
