Any journalist/published author applying this year?
Any journalist/published author applying this cycle?
If so, PM me!
I am debating if I should attach some of my published articles to the application...wondering if this would be a good idea.

Don't give them things they don't ask for.

Just list it on your resume. Odds are, it won't matter much.La.Chocolate wrote:Any journalist/published author applying this cycle?

I've had some fiction and non-fiction published, but didn't submit those samples with my application materials. I just listed my experiences and publications on my resume. If you think your experiences in journalism/writing are particularly relevant, you could expand on those experiences in your personal statement or in your diversity statement, if you plan on writing one (diversity statements aren't just for URMs, so you could technically write one if you think that your experiences in writing and publishing will add a diverse perspective to the law schools you're applying to).

I remember reading somewhere either on a T14 website or an interview with a T14 admission officer or possibly even on a consultant's blog that you absolutely should not send in more things than they ask for. It specifically referenced sending in your published works and how you absolutely should not do that. I'll try and find the source but either way I would not send it in. I wrote for a magazine for a year and I just listed it on my resume and on any area asking for extra circular.
